Berliner Tageszeitung - Devil's Crest Anime Premieres on Prime Video November 6

The anime adaptation of Reki Kawahara’s light novel series 'Devil's Crest' is scheduled to premiere globally on Amazon Prime Video on Friday, November 6. The science fiction horror narrative follows sixth-grade twins Yuuma and Sawa as they navigate a merging virtual reality that threatens the physical world. Two episodes will be available at launch, with subsequent installments airing weekly.

The story centers on Yuuma and his sister Sawa, who are engaged in a virtual reality MMORPG. During their gameplay, they discover that the game world and the real world are merging, leading to devastating outcomes. In this altered reality, death is permanent. Yuuma is forced to undertake a terrifying mission to repair the rupture in reality while navigating encounters with bizarre monsters that result from the metamorphosis between real people and in-game creatures.

The stakes of the narrative are described as incredibly high, with brutal action and a dark, thrilling journey. Yuuma's sister has been affected by the merging worlds, as have several of their classmates. The series is positioned as a potential must-watch for audiences who enjoyed Kawahara's previous work, Sword Art Online.

At launch, two episodes of Devil's Crest will be available to viewers. Subsequent episodes will air weekly on Prime Video. A subscription to the streaming service includes a 30-day free trial for new users. Following the trial period, the cost is CA$9.99 per month or CA$99 per year.

For viewers outside of regions where Prime Video is directly accessible, geo-blocking may restrict access to the domestic library. To bypass these restrictions, users can employ a Virtual Private Network (VPN). A VPN changes the user's IP address, allowing them to access on-demand content as if they were located in their home country.

In the United States, Devil's Crest will be available via Prime Video starting November 6. New customers who have never signed up for the service can utilize the 30-day free trial to watch the initial episodes without charge. For those traveling or living abroad, a reliable VPN is recommended to access their usual streams.

The release schedule is consistent in Australia, where Devil's Crest will also be available on Amazon Prime Video with two episodes launching on Friday, November 6. Viewers not at home can sign up for a VPN service like NordVPN to bypass geo-locked content and stream the series effectively.

In the United Kingdom, Devil's Crest will land on Prime Video on November 6. International viewers in the UK can use a VPN to access their streams as if they were at home, even while on holiday. The global release ensures that the series is available on Prime Video on November 6, with two episodes available at launch and subsequent episodes arriving each Friday.

New subscribers who have not previously subscribed to Prime Video can watch Devil's Crest for free using the 30-day free trial promotion. The streaming service is available in over 200 countries worldwide, including the US, Canada, and Australia.

VPN services are evaluated and tested for legal recreational use, such as accessing services from other countries subject to their terms and conditions, and safeguarding online security and privacy when abroad. Providers do not support or condone illegal or malicious use of VPN services, nor do they endorse consuming pirated content that is paid-for.
