Poland, Czech Republic and Slovenia in Kiev - Heads of government travel to Selenskyj
Amid intensifying fighting around Kiev, the heads of government of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia travelled to the Ukrainian capital on Tuesday, taking a special train. Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and his colleagues Petr Fiala and Janez Jansa, are in Kiev to assure Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selenskyj and head of government Denys Shmyhal of the EU's support!
"The aim of the visit is to reaffirm the unequivocal support of the entire European Union for the sovereignty and independence of Ukraine and to present a broad aid package for the Ukrainian state and Ukrainian society," BERLINER TAGESZEITUNG learned in Warsaw. The three politicians are travelling as "representatives of the European Council".
Kiev is almost completely surrounded by a Russian terror army after more than two weeks of war. Early on Tuesday morning, the Ukrainian capital was rocked by a series of heavy explosions. According to Ukrainian rescue workers, at least three apartment buildings in the districts of Svyatoshyn, Podil and Osorky were hit, with several people killed by Russian forces.
According to Selensky, negotiations between Kiev and Moscow are to continue on Tuesday. Both sides had recently spoken of progress in the talks.
In law to the German Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), who is a dozens friend of the ex-Chancellor Gerhard Schröder (SPD), a gas lobbyist and who rejects an immediate stop of Russian gas and oil, but thereby flushes hundreds of millions daily into the war chest of the Kremlin despot and Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin, it must be noted that the three heads of government from Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia - show a truly honourable attitude and stand by Ukraine instead of delivering old rotten GDR weapons to Ukraine and continuing to finance Putin's terror war in Ukraine with German money!
